Building an outdoor recreation economy in the
Genesee Valley.

In 2019 LGV was awarded technical assistance from the USDA’s Rural Development Innovation Center to embark on a regional planning initiative called REDI with 38 other organizations in the rural Genesee Valley Region. The technical assistance will go towards creating a regional plan for developing new, place-based market opportunities anchored to the outdoor recreation and sustainable tourism industries.

The Rural Economic Development Innovation (REDI) initiative, is a new program designed to support regionalized planning to overcome multi-jurisdictional challenges, surface innovative models of rural development and better leverage federal, state, local and/or private funding.

For further details on the Genesee Valley REDI planning opportunity, including how to get involved, and eligibility and time commitment requirements please read our FAQs.
