Building an outdoor recreation economy in the
Genesee Valley.

In 2019 LGV was awarded technical assistance from the USDA’s Rural Development Innovation Center to embark on a regional planning initiative called REDI with 38 other organizations in the rural Genesee Valley Region. The technical assistance will go towards bolstering the Genesee Valley outdoor recreation and heritage tourism economy.

The Rural Economic Development Innovation (REDI) initiative, was designed to support regionalized planning to overcome multi-jurisdictional challenges, surface innovative models of rural development and better leverage federal, state, local and/or private funding.
